Secretaries

There are three main items to track as a secretary:

  • Attendance

  • Achievement

  • Materials and Inventory

ATTENDANCE

Recording attendance serves the following purposes:

  • Individual kids will receive awards for faithful attendance.

  • Teams may earn points toward a team award at the end of the club meeting.

  • Absences are noted to keep in contact with a child by phone or mail.

ACHIEVEMENT

These are the achievements that you monitor and resources that you use for recording handbook section completion for each student:

  • Book Progress

  • Book completion

Note: All 3 of our clubs follow the “All-Together” method. This means that every child (within their age group) works on the same section each week. If a child misses a week (or starts late), they can go back and make up sections with their leaders if they desire to complete their whole book and receive a book award. This method helps every child to be engaged each week they are able to come regardless of parental help at home.

MATERIALS AND INVENTORY

  • Be sure we have an entrance booklet and handbook for each club you are working with to know what awards are needed.

  • The entrance booklet for each Awana club contains a clear presentation of the Gospel. This ensures that every child and family who participates in your ministry will learn about the Good News of Jesus Christ first.

  • Every child will receive a handbook after completing the appropriate entrance booklet.

  • We also supply uniforms for each child.

We track attendance through Planning Center Online (“Check-Ins”) and book progress for children through “TwoTimTwo.com” (Sparks and T&T.)

Note: The videos below show the physical cards that can be used for record keeping. Though we keep digital records, the videos are still helpful to understand the parts of the handbooks and when awards are given.
